EARLY LEARNING
OUR PROGRAMMING AND PHILOSOPHY
First and foremost at Little Ducks we aim to create an environment that is stimulating and challenging and allows the children the opportunity to grow, learn and develop at their own pace.
We believe that development should encompass the whole child, including physical, cognitive, social/emotional, creative, expressive and spiritual entities.
Our curriculum is based around the inclusion of the “whole child”. We value a child centred program, where each individual’s ideas and interests are considered daily.
We believe that optimal learning experiences occur through continual observation and recording of children’s abilities, responses and interests. It is through play that children develop cognitive, physical, creative, emotional and social skills.
The programming is based on observing children on a regular basis, evaluating their needs and planning activities from these observations. We aim to develop programs to meet the children’s needs and therefore enhance individual development. Each child is guided to develop at an individual pace according to his or her unique, individual way. Programs are evaluated on a regular basis.
We truly value the role of our families, employees and the broader community in providing equitable care in our centre and we welcome our parents’ input.
